Tottenham are set to offer new deal to Hugo Lloris

Lloris missed several games due to a shoulder injury, giving a chance to his backup goalie Michael Vorm, but Poch revealed “It’s not a big issue. It’s a very small injury.” the former Lyon man is expected to return on Thursday against Fiorentina.

The France international watched from the stands during Tottenham’s 0-1 loss to Crystal Palace on Sunday along with another injured star Jan Vertonghen (knee).

Considering the fact that the Spurs are very close finishing in the top four, the 29-year-old’s immediate future should be at Spurs. Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, and the statistics back this up.

  • He has made more punched clearances than anyone else since arriving in England in 2014 – with 37.
  • During his time with Lyon, Lloris’s went 558 minutes without conceding a goal. A run of five consecutive clean sheets came to an end when Cristiano Ronaldo put a goal past him in for Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The 6ft 2in goalie made 43 catches, 22 punches, 46 saves, via Squawka, and has nine clean sheets in his 25 Premier League appearances this season.

In a world where teams are always looking for their next big signing, extending Lloris contract at White Hart Lane is just as important to the London club’s growth and secures a strong future between the posts.
